Flashforward, by Robert J. Sawyer

Halting State, by Charles Stross

Gets the gaming lingo right, which, now that I’ve read Stross’ bio, makes all kinds of sense. Although I need to brush up on my Scots/British slang, because I still haven’t figured out what a “ned” or a “bampot” is :-)

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho

The New Moon’s Arms, by Nalo Hopkinson

Hits on some difficult topics with sensitivity through a not always likeable main character for whom you nevertheless want to see things turn out alright in the end. That sentence convoluted enough for ya? :-)
