When I was little, I went on a trip to Portugal to visit my grandparents, who were wintering in the Algarve. I got given a nickname over there, due to my general love of pasta: Senhorita Macaroni. I’ve kept that taste for noodles into adulthood. So I thought, why the heck not: here’s the cover letter that went along with my successful application. Deep-fried [...] I made it back from Viable Paradise, no thanks to Hurricane Kyle, and all thanks to VP staffer Kate. After my puddle jumper flight got canceled, she bundled me into her car and we took the ferry to Woods Hole, then she dropped me off at Logan. All I had to do was provide the in-drive [...] Wow. These are [...] Oof. I’ve now been up for over 28 hours, but four airports and three uneventful flights later I have arrived in Martha’s Vineyard. My first cedar shake airport terminal! I managed to get baggage carousel grease on my slacks and bash my just-healed broken toe on my suitcase (to the point where I drew blood), but hopefully [...] Well, if Air Canada isn’t late, my flight is departing for Viable Paradise. See you on the other side! I may be incommunicado until the end of [...] Sorry for the AWOL-ity. I have been a bit stressed and glum, dealing with the fallout from this. However, I am still employed, so I have less to be stressed and glum about than others, for which I am grateful. I’m apparently not going to be an astronaut, either. Didn’t make the top 2000 applicants. Oh, [...] |
